Celastraus (Celastraceae) orbiculatus

Also known as bittersweet or staff vine, this vigorous grower has large green leaves and performs best in partial shade to full sun.  Brilliant orange-red seeds become visible as its yellowish fruit opens.  No pruning is required.  However, if pruning to maintain a size, prune after fruiting has finished.  A mature height of 14 m (46') is not uncommon.
